We've been going to Charleston at least once a year for several years now, and one placeI've had on the list to see has been The Charleston Tea Plantation. It's the only tea plantation still in the United States and it's an easy drive from Charleston proper to Waccamaw Island where the plantation is located.
It is free to tour the factory...and while you're there you can sample their teas unlimited. Hot, cold, fruity or not...we also sipped while we took a trolley tour of the grounds (you do pay for the trolley but it's a great way to see everything and is really affordable...especially while drinking complimentary tea).
So glad we finally made it out there..checkout the link above to read all about their story, and how the yummy tea we drink is grown and produced.
