Pumpkin Patch

On Tuesday, we went to Hodge's Dairy Farm to pick out our Halloween pumpkin. Last year we went a little earlier and then made a day before Halloween trip after a burglary left us with no photos to commemorate Little Man's first pumpkin patch trip. We enjoyed both trips last year, and this year we also were happy to find a pumpkin that Little Man has already befriended. Last year we went on a weekend day and enjoyed hot spiced apple cider, but with the heat down here right now that would be ridiculous. But we did pick up some apple butter, and Little Man enjoyed riding in the wagon with the pumpkin we eventually chose (candidate #3), and he liked looking at the baby animals. He didn't play in the inflatable house, but didn't seem to mind as excited as he was about the pumpkin.

We enjoyed looking at the baby pigs and the bunnies until we heard the mama pig banging in her nearby trailer, she sounded MAD. Hubby and I looked at each other and at the same time said, it's time to go...seriously, she was banging the heck out of the inside of that trailer.

Hodge's also has riding lessons and a haunted hay ride.
