I had a great morning learning to make French macaroons at Sur La Table. The class was 3.5 hours long and we made two flavors: Pumpkin Spice with Chocolate Ganache and Apple with Caramel.
We started by sifting the dry ingredients.
We made a meringue that the dry ingredients were folded carefully into.
We learend how to use a parchment paper template and a piping bag to make the perfect shape that macaroons are known for.
The pans my group made came out perfect, complete with the "foot" found on great macaroons.
Then it was time for filling. The green had caramel and apple butter.
Don't they look good enough to eat ;)
