Fingerless Gloves and a Gypsy

Two topics to share with you this post.  One is the fingerless glove projects I've been working on.  I made the light gray pair for myself for my ultra-cold office.  I used stash yarn, and they went pretty quickly with the well-written Evangeline pattern.  The idea to make the gloves came up while talking with a co-worker about how we were sitting on our hands to keep them warm.  Two days and a search of Ravelry later, and I had a pattern picked out.

Now the gray pair was for myself, and my also cold co-worker's birthday is Feb. 2nd, so, I cast-on two weeks ago for a brick-colored pair to gift her.  I'm a bit further than the photo below on the 2nd pair, and as soon as I'm finished with this blog post...I'm hoping to get a repeat or two done.

The other topic?  I scored the deal of the century on this brand-new Gypsy from Michael's...$20 instead of $299!  A fellow crafter gave me the heads up and I hurried over to get there before they were out.  The Gypsy allows you to design Cricut projects on the go, then hook up and cut the project with the Cricut....so VERY cool.  But the deal was sweetened even more by a deal that allowed me to get 7 digital cartridges.  I always have a lot going on, and I haven't gotten to play with my newest crafting toy the way I would like, but I see lots of fun possibilities in our future.

Off to knit!!!
