November 11th: Happy Birthday Little Man!

I can't believe he's already 3!

It doesn't seem like that long ago when we were worrying about him before we knew he was a he! Little Man came 7 weeks early, and spent his first 16 days in the NICU. We didn't find out he was a boy until he was born. He's so sweet, it made celebrating his birthday even more fun!

This year the theme was Thomas the Tank Engine. It started with his Thomas cake, followed by his train table, and on his birthday he got lots of Thomas-wrapped presents.

Tradition requires the birthday person sit with a bow on their head for one photo.

Little Man opening some of his presents. I think Hubby and I may have to come up with a signal to stop videotaping. He loves to tape forever, and I need shorter videos to post. But we always wind up with these videos of me trying to let him know to take a break in taping. Ugh! I also need him to break because we'd wind up with no photos! Wasn't Little Man cute calling the paper pretty?

Isn't it about time some of my cute knits are modeled again? Here's the pirate buddy bag. He put it into use right away, carrying up his new train pieces to his room.
And here's the sweater I knit for him and finished back in June. I'm not posting the video of Little Man with barnacle Bill because he was excited when he saw the head in the bag, but when I pulled it out the size freaked him out and he said, "Don't want it!" So, we're warming him up to Barnacle Bill.

Back during my crafting before bar studying I finished these train pieces. The pieces are all bought individually and were painted with acrylic paint and varnished. Up close they look a little sloppy (they were tricky to paint) but from afar, they look perfect and colorful, very cool.

Little Man was born at 11:42 Am on Veteran's Day and so we let him open his presents at the time he was born. After that we let him spend the rest of the day playing with his new toys. Then we had rotisserie chicken for dinner and a mini ice cream cake for dessert. I didn't want to put a candle on the remains of his school cake so I got him this little one which worked out great. His birthday boy topper he gets on his cake every year.

Hi Rose - I did want to let you know that I was not able to see your You Tube videos.
