FOs and Winter Ravelympics 2010

As I started looking at what photos to include in this post I was surprised by how many projects I have to share that are finished. I've worked on several smaller projects in the first month and a half of the new year, mainly because I know several people expecting babies...and can you tell what gender the very anticipated babies will be?

First I used stash yarn to knit this Debbie Bliss Ribbed Baby Jacket.

Then, I turned to my stash again to knit the Speedy Baby Shower set from the book Speed Knits. I love this set, and the alpaca yarn is so sweet and soft!

Again a stash knit, this time for a 7-hour baby sweater...it was quite a hit with the expectant mom!

I also put together this:

my go-to gift idea, a baby spa bucket. In a bucket that can be used to hold bath toys I put a robe, shampoo, baby wash, regular lotion, lavender nighttime lotion, diaper cream, special safety nail clippers and

a washcloth.

A dragon card for my Little Sister's birthday made using my Pagoda cartridge for Cricut.

For those of you who have been reading this blog for a while you may remember way back when in August 2008, when I took on the Ravelympics challenge. Well, with the Winter Olympics starting on Feb. 12th in Canada, crazy knitters, crocheters, spinners and dyers around the world have again taken on the Ravelympic challenge: to begin a project(s) that will be completed by the end of the Olympics. And I'm one of them. My work schedule, along with Hubby's, has been crazy erratic the last few weeks though, so I'm not knitting an adult sweater like some people. Just a complicated eyelet baby sweater. If I finish with enough time left I may cast on a Mother Bear for charity...we shall see how far I get...how fast these fingers can fly!

Needlecrafters everywhere sat waiting to begin their projects all at the same time: 9 PM EST

Will Craft Chick finish in time? Will she cast on for another project before the Ravelympics end? Will she have enough yarn to finish her project? Stay tuned for the answers to these and other burning questions next time!
