Valentine's Day Target and Aldi Style

We have become big fans of Aldi grocery stores, and so it's not too much of a surprise that Aldi purchases made up the majority of our Valentine's Day celebration. If you have one of these stores in your area I highly encourage you to check out what they have!

1/2 dozen red roses - $3.99

2 lobsters tails - $12.99
bacon wrapped beef fillets - $1.79 each
broccoli and potatoes also from Aldi, I just can't remember what I paid ;)

Target also provided us with a treat this year. I picked up a $3.99 Red Velvet Cupcake kit.
It included the cupcake mix, frosting mix, cupcake liners and sprinkles.
It made 12 cupcakes, and Little Man had a blast decorating.
After Hubby's emergency trip to Alabama a couple of days earlier we enjoyed a laid back day at home exchanging cards, eating candy, and for Little Man, staying in his pajamas. We also took time to remember my Pop, since Valentine's Day will always be first and foremost in my mind his birthday.

I hope everyone enjoyed the day, and next post I hope to share about the Ravelympics! And, hopefully, my successful completion of my second triathlon!

Your Aldi stores are definitely better than the ones we have here! There'd be no chance of getting lobster tails! Although they do have great yarn specials from time to time...
Love the cupcakes, are red velvet a special flavour or just red for Valentines?
Oh and well done on your Ravelympics baby shower projects!
