Celebrating at school has worked out so well in the past that we saw no reason to change things this year. And since the teacher made our snack day his birthday, the snack we provided was juice boxes and cake.
Little Man was already excited that his name was announced over the loudspeaker, and that he got to wear a crown all day, then Hubby and I showed up with the cake and goodie bags for his friends and he was smiling from ear to ear. His friends loved the goodie bags. Oriental Trading really helped a lot. Gummy cars, car stickers, model cars, car shaped Silly Bandz, and pencils with his name and little cars made the goodie bags fun for the theme.
Meanwhile at home, his presents and balloons were waiting for him...
He was very excited to come home and see his gifts to open.

After having his birthday dinner of chicken divan (his pick) we waited a little bit before having ice cream cake. We had to have a mini-cake for wish-making ;)
So there you have it, how we celebrated Little Man turning 6!

Aw happy birthday! Great photos, I can't believe he's grown so much! Kids that age seem to change overnight. He looks like he had a great day, and really enjoyed his presents.
BTW, if you made that NASCAR cake, well done, it's fabulous!
